Invitation to participate in the "Halaqat" project Second Round

The Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC) is pleased to invite you to participate in the "Halaqat" project, which aims to support and develop twelve Jordanian series through a program designed to assist teams selected by Jordanian, Arab and international professional consultants, and to give each individual or team sufficient training and knowledge to develop a series. Teams will join a seven-month program consisting of the following labs and activities: 1. Introductory Workshop: A four-day workshop, bringing together all participants with four well-known series creators who will act as consultants. Consultants will hold group sessions and virtual one-on-one sessions with each screenwriter/team to begin their journey in developing their TV project. Consultants will also work with teams to help them develop and execute a workflow plan for each team/project. 2. Writers’ Lab: A four-month virtual lab with three sessions per week, where professional TV writers will work as consultants with the writer from each team to develop the TV bible and the script for the pilot episode. 3. Pitching Workshop:

The Pitching workshop will be held virtually through 4 sessions and 3 face-to-face sessions. Teams will develop a 10-minute presentation of their projects. All sessions will be group sessions and will include participant feedback and feedback from the advisor. 4. Market Project: The RFC will invite representatives from local, regional and international production companies, TV channels, and streaming platforms. The event will consist of: 1) Teams’ project pitch: Each of the twelve teams will pitch their project in the 10-minute presentation to those invited in the project market. 2) One-on-one sessions: Each of the twelve writers/teams will meet for 10 minutes with each representative of the invited companies, where they will give their presentation and discuss their project. Note: The deadlines for each stage will be determined later. Application deadline: 15 April 2024 To participate and learn more details, please visit http://www.film.jo/ or contact the RFC at [email protected]
