The film centres affiliated with the Royal Film Commission – Jordan play a pivotal role in the development and support of the film and TV industry across various governorates. These centres provide the space, infrastructure, and necessary equipment to bolster cinematic creativity and enhance collaboration among filmmakers throughout the kingdom.
These film centres are situated in six governorates, namely Irbid, Mafraq, Zarqa, Al-Salt, Wadi Rum, and Petra. Located in vibrant areas at the centre of the governorates. They offer training facilities for cinema programs and workshops, film screenings, as well as laboratories for film editing and montage.
The centres support local filmmakers by offering workshops, training, and guidance in most artistic and technical professions in this field. They also aim to foster creativity and promote an understanding of cinema as an art form and a means of expression, and as an important industry that offers job opportunities. The centres also target all age groups.
In addition to their support for the film industry, the film centres organize film screenings that contribute to enhancing cultural and artistic awareness within the local community. These centres reflect the commitment of the Jordanian government to support the arts and culture and strengthen the role of cinema as a medium for cultural expression and communication.
In general, the film centres are a vital component of the cultural and artistic infrastructure in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. They are dedicated to promoting and developing the film industry and related arts across all governorates. All programs and workshops are offered free of charge.
