Digital Filmmaking Workshop

The Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC)'s Digital Filmmaking Workshop was a pivotal program designed to empower emerging and potential filmmakers in Jordan by advancing their filmmaking skills. This comprehensive 21-day workshop, which ran annually for 16 years, offered a platform for participants to delve into various filmmaking disciplines, including scriptwriting, directing, producing, cinematography, sound, and editing. The workshop combined both theoretical and hands-on practices, providing participants with the tools and knowledge they needed to harness their own talents and creativity. Through this program, the RFC aimed to not only enhance the individual skills of participants, but also encourage collaborative teamwork among emerging filmmakers.

Across its 16 cycles, each of which accepted 15 to 25 participants, the Digital Filmmaking Workshop proved to be a transformative experience for aspiring filmmakers. With the guidance of local, regional, and international industry professionals, the workshop empowered participants to develop and produce short narrative films, offering them the opportunity to put their newfound knowledge into practice. Over its course, the program graduated some of the industry's leading filmmakers who have gone on to make significant contributions to Jordanian cinema
