ZEINA SHANAH

Zeina has rich diverse experience in both the corporate and academic worlds of media, specifically in the MENA region, accumulated from 18 years of immersion in the fields of content, culture, marketing, and research. 
 
In her role as Head of Film Production at VOX Cinemas, Zeina co-built and curated the company’s first film slate of over 10 Arabic feature films by scouting for, co-developing, and co-producing projects while overseeing the creative, finance, legal and distribution aspects. She collaborated closely with prominent production houses across the region including Egypt, Saudi, UAE, Jordan, and Lebanon and also supported and worked directly with acclaimed and upcoming talented writers and independent producers. Working closely with the VOX distribution and exhibition teams, Zeina acquired significant knowledge of this region’s entertainment landscape and audiences. 
 
Zeina holds a PhD in Film and Media Studies from SOAS University of London. In her thesis, she conducts qualitative multidisciplinary research and analyzes subversive cinematic techniques in over fifty 21st century Arabic films. The study zooms in on the significant role of unconventional film forms in conveying meaning and provoking thought. 
 
Zeina published an article in The Middle East in London Magazine and has occasionally lectured at SOAS.

Nadim Tabet

Global Media Makers Fellow, Nadim Tabet is a Lebanese director who directed several short films and co-founded the Lebanese Film Festival which is held every two years in Beirut. In 2016 he directed his first feature film, “One of these days”, and he is currently preparing his new feature, “Under Construction”, as well as a series called “Faraya”.
In addition to his activity in cinema, Nadim Tabet directs fashion videos as well as music videos for Lebanese and European bands and he gives lectures/seminars on cinema in several universities.

Margaret Glover

Margaret Glover is an award-winning producer, script editor, and writer whose most recent collaboration was with Ahmed Al Daradji's on “Hanging Gardens”, which started its formal development journey at Rawi in 2017. This was Al Daradji's debut feature which premiered in Venice in September 2022 and went on to win Best Film at the Red Sea Festival (December 2022) and then Best Film and Best Screenplay at the Malmo Arab Film Festival (May 2023). 
In addition to her role as creative advisor for Rawi, Margaret's other work in the region includes a documentary workshop in Mosul (2021) and a short film workshop with Ahmed Amer for the Dahshur Residency in Egypt (2023). Margaret is currently in development as co-writer with Italian-Swiss documentary director Francesca Scalisi on her debut fiction feature and awaiting the green light on two European features that she's script editing.
