Screenings that were held in 2008:

December 4 to December 28:

  • 28th of December: Screening of “Jordanian in Las Vegas” by Emad Shawa at RFC.
  • 23rd December: Screening of “Once Upon a Piano” by Fadi Haddad and “Arabizi” by Dalia Al Kury, in the framework of the Christmas Festival at Fuhais.
  • 4th – 5th of December: Romanian Film Days. Five films: Three shorts and two classical features are to be screened in Al Hussein Cultural Center, in cooperation with the Jordanian Romanian Forum for Culture.

November 2 to November 13:
  • 13th of November: Screening of “Knights of Change” by Sameh Shouayter in Jordan Valley.
  • 11th –27th of November: European Film Festival in cooperation with the EU Commission. The RFC was in charge of the screenings organized in: Zarqa, Irbid, Aqaba and Salt.
  • 2nd -8th of November: Palestinian Film Week in cooperation with Al Balad Theater and Art East Festival.

October 19 to October 20:
  • 20th of October: Screening of the Jordanian short film “Pumello” by Yehia Al Abdallah and Aseel Mansour at RFC.
  • 19th – 21st of October: Homage, at RFC, in tribute to the late actor Paul Newman: “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”, “Absence of Malice” and “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”.

September 4 to September 28:
  • 28th of September: Screening of the short documentary: “Seven Professions...Lost Homeland” by the Jordanian Director Asma Bseiso at RFC.
  • 27th of September: Screening of “Knights of Change” by Sameh Shouayter in Mafraq.
  • 25th of September: Screening of “Captain Abu Raed” by the Jordanian Director Amin Matalqa in cooperation with the Directorate of Arts and Theater in Jebel Lweibdeh.
  • 18th of September: Screenings of children movies in cooperation with the Directorate of Arts and Theater in Jebel Lweibdeh.
  • 21st of September: Homage in tribute to the Lebanese Director Randa Shahal: screening of “The Kite”.
  • 4th of September: Screening of “Captain Abu Raed by Amin Matalqa in Aqaba, as part of the opening of RSICA.

August 1 to August 29:
  • 29th of August: Screening of Jordanian shorts at Souk Jara. The films screened were: “Misunderstood” by Moataz Matar, “The Other Side of my Neighborhood” by Said Najmi, and “Jordanian Call” by Emad Hajjaj.
  • 24th of August: Homage to honor Jordanian Director, under the Patronage of HRH Princess Rym Ali and in cooperation with Pioneers Production Company, the five films that were celebrated were: “A Struggle in Jerash” by Wassef Al Sheikh in 1957, “Watani Habibi” by Abdallah Kawash in 1964, “A Storm on Petra” by Farouk Ajrameh in 1965, “The Snake” by Jalal Tohmeh in 1970 and “An Oriental Tale” by Najdat Anzour in 1991.
  • 17th – 25th of August: The Caravan of the Euro-Arab Cinema in cooperation with Pioneers Production Company, during which 12 Arab films were screened in presence of their directors.
  • 11th of August: Screening of Jordanian films at King Abdallah Cultural Center in Zarqa. The films screened were: “Once Upon a Piano” by Fadi Haddad, “Shab Wetghrab” and “Jordanian Call” by Emad Hajjaj, “Jihadi” by Mostafa Salameh, and “Talaween” by Yehia Al Abdallah.
  • 8th of August: Screening of Jordanian films in the framework of Amman Summer Festival. The films screened were: “Once Upon a Piano” by Fadi Haddad, “Shab Wetghrab” and “Jordanian Call” by Emad Hajjaj, “Jihadi” by Mostafa Salameh, and “Talaween” by Yehia Al Abdallah.
  • 3rd of August: Screening of the Jordanian short film “Once Upon a Piano” by Fadi Haddad at RFC.
  • 1st of August: Screening of the Japanese Animation film “Howl’s Moving Castle” by Hayao Miyazaki at Souk Jara.

July 2 to July 9:
  • 4th of July: Screening at Souk Jara of “Water” by Emad Hajjaj, “Borderlines” by Sawsan Darwazeh, “Dali” by Amjad Rasheed, “Talaween” by Yehya Al Abdallah
  • 2nd – 9th of July: Franco Arab Film Festival in cooperation with the French Embassy.

June 1 to June 29:
  • 29th June: screening of “My City” by Abdel Salam Hajj, “Talaween” by Yehia Al Abdallah; “Jihadi” by Mostafa Salameh; “Jordanian Call” by Emad Hajjaj, at Fuhais in the framework of Fuhais cultural festival.
  • 6th of June: Screening at Souk Jara of Shab w Tgharrab and Jordanian Call by Emad Hajjaj; “The Other Side of my Neighborhood” by Said Najmi; “Jihadi” by Mostafa Salameh; “Smile, you are in South Lebanon” by Dalia Al Kury.
  • 1rd - 6th of June: Indian Film Week in cooperation with the Indian Embassy.

May 11 to May 26:
  • 24th – 26th May: Screening in Aqaba of “Howl’s Movie Cast”, “The Terminal” and “Cast Away”.
  • 11th of May: screening of “My City” by Abdel Salam Hajj, “Dali” by Amjad Rasheed, “Minister of Peanuts” by Motaz Matar, “Jordanian Call” by Emad Hajjaj, in the framework of Free Theater Festival.

April 2 to April 8:
  • 8th of April: Screening of Short Jordanian films at Irbid’s Municipality, in the framework of Irbid as Jordan’s cultural city for 2008.
  • 6th – 7th of April: Screening of “Recycle” by the Jordanian Director Mahmoud Al Massad.
  • 2nd – 5th of April: Screening of Jordanian films in royal cultural center: the films were: “The Night” by Sawsan Darwazeh; “Sajjel” by Asma Bseiso; “Smile, you are in South Lebanon” by Dalia al-Kury; “My City” by Abdel Salam Hajj; “Always…look them in the eyes” by Azza al Hassan, in the framework of Fawanees Festival.

March 2 to March 26:
  • 15th – 26th of March: La Francophonie Film Festival in cooperation with 11 Embassies.
  • 2nd – 6th of March: Five-day screenings of Jordanian films in Yarmouk University: the five films were: “Six Minutes” by Yehia Al Abdallah; “My City” by Abdel Salam Al Hajj; “News Time” by Azza Al Hassan; “Full Bloom” by Sandra Madi; and “Sajjel” by Asma Bseiso.

February 14 to February 28:
  • 24th - 28th of February: The Spanish Film Festival in cooperation with the Cervantes Institute and Al Balad Theater. Screening of “The Song of the Water Wheel” in the presence of the Tunisian Director Abdel Latif Ben Ammar on the 24th of February, at the Jordan University.
  • 21st of February: Screening of “News Time” by Azza Al Hassan at the e-Village in Lib.
  • 14th of February: Screening of “Those Others” by Sawsan Darwazeh at the e-Village in Lib.

January 16 to January 27:
  • 16th and 17th January: Screening “Salata Baladi" and “The Headache” by the Egyptian Director Nadia Kamel, in cooperation with Al Balad Theater in the framework of Hakaya Festival.
