1. Call for submissions: Submit your feature film for consideration
for the Oscar Awards |
If you are
a Jordanian director or producer and have made a film over 40
minutes – narrative, documentary or animation – and have released
your film commercially in Jordan between October 1, 2019 and
December 31, 2020 for at least 7 consecutive days, you can submit
your film for consideration for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts
and Sciences. Nevertheless, due to the coronavirus/COVID-19 global
pandemic and the closure of commercial theaters “selected films that
had a previously planned theatrical release but are initially made
available through a reputable commercial streaming distribution
service or video on demand may qualify for awards consideration in
the International Feature category for the 93rd Academy Awards”.
An
independent Selection Committee – established by the RFC – will look
into the submitted films that have to fit eligibility criteria set
by the Academy for the International Feature Film Award.
Please
check Rule 13, for more details and criteria:

2. Call for applications: IDFA Bertha Fund |
The International Documentary Film
Festival Amsterdam (IDFA)
Bertha Fund supports independent, critical, and artistic voices from
Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe (IBF
regions) with the aim of stimulating and empowering the creative
documentary sector in these regions. The Fund provides development,
production, and distribution grants through two funding schemes.
Filmmakers from and living in the above-mentioned regions can apply
for IBF Classic. European co-producers of documentaries from these
regions can apply for IBF Europe.
In addition to financing, the Fund offers filmmakers tailor-made
consultancies and training programs to support them in their
creative and production process.
Moreover, filmmakers are
invited to participate in the different industry events that IDFA
has to offer, and broaden their international network and knowledge
of the documentary industry.
Financial
support for production and post-production allows filmmakers to
actually realize their projects. The maximum contribution for
production and post-production is €17,500. These contributions can be
spent on all forms of production and post-production, from filming
and editing to making the documentaries suitable for screening in
cinemas, on television and at international festivals. Applications
have to be submitted by a director or producer from a country on the IBF Classic Country List and the contribution must be spent in a
country on this list as well.
