Filmmaking Support |
Description:
This position provides technical and training support to Capacity
Building training projects and filmmakers.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain all film and multimedia production-related
applications.
- Research the new trends and up-to-date technical solutions and
technologies.
- Participate in the overall capacity building and multimedia
production programs.
- Train young filmmakers on video editing software, and assist them
throughout the whole process of post-production.
- Provide editing assistance for filmmakers.
- Maintain and update the inventory database and create safety
backups.
Qualifications:
- University graduate preferably in filmmaking or in a related
field.
- A good knowledge in editing software and film structure.
- Ability to provide training to groups as well as individuals.
- Very good command in Arabic and English both written and spoken.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

2. Call for applications: Debut Documentary Program |
The Royal Film Commission - Jordan (RFC) is accepting submissions
for the Debut Documentary Program.
The program gives Jordanians or residents in Jordan the opportunity
to produce Arabic language documentaries, within the framework of a
training program and under the supervision of professional
specialists.
Eligibility:
This
program is open to Jordanian citizens documentary filmmakers and
documentary filmmakers residing in Jordan.
English transcripts are accepted provided that they are translated
into Arabic later.
· Applicants can only submit one treatment for a feature
documentary.
· This submission should be the first feature documentary for all
applicants.
· The applicants can be as follows: Two applicants (Producer and
director).

Synopsis of the project in one page only
Treatment
The RFC allocates five thousand Jordanian Dinars (5,000 JOD) for
each documentary. The participating producer is expected to secure
additional funds and/ or in-kind sponsorship
The submission of a budget breakdown should not exceed twelve
thousand five hundred Jordanian Dinars (12,500 JOD).

3. Call for applications: Med Film Factory’s 5th Round |
The Royal Film Commission – Jordan welcomes applications to the
fifth round of Med Film Factory (MFF),
which will be held in Jordan in 2017. Six teams will be selected
(two teams from Jordan and four teams from the Arab world) to
participate in this year’s cycle.
Med Film Factory is a specialized training program aimed at
semi-professional teams of Arab film directors and producers. MFF
offers those teams the opportunity to advance their creative and
professional skills, while supporting the realization of their
projects, through two training sessions:
- The Producers’ Coaching Program
- The Directors’ Workshop

4. Call for submissions: The Arab Film Institute Post-Production
Grant |
As part of the Arab Film Institute (AFI) programme to support its
members at any stage of their projects, the Post-production in-kind
grant provides colour grading and online facilities to feature
length projects in both fiction and non-fiction films.
Eligible for the call are filmmakers, producers or production
company members of the Arab Film Institute. Those who are not yet
members of the institute and would like to benefit from this
opportunity, they are asked to complete their membership
registration before submitting their projects. The grant will not be
a monetary one – beneficiaries will rather be a variety of
post-production services free of charge.
The contribution is limited to a maximum two weeks’ work for both
fiction and non-fiction projects, and may not exceed the proposed
timeframe. Applicants should complete the online application form.
A link for the rough-cut or directors cut must be available online
for viewing. Entry forms missing any of the requested information
will not be taken into consideration. The shared information will be
kept confidential and is for internal use only.
The deadline for submission is on 1st August 2017.
Pixelmob a post-production company based in Beirut, and Mile Studios
post-production company based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates agreed
to launch an open call for submission addressed exclusively to AFI’s
members in order to award four feature films (fiction and
non-fiction) to benefit of a colour grading, title credits, and
online facilities to conform all four selected projects during this
year.

5. Call for applications: Zurich Film Festival Master Class 2017 |
The Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) Master Class offers a unique
opportunity to learn from international film industry experts and
connect with prospective collaborators while exploring the Zurich
Film Festival. Application is open now!
Within the framework of the 13th Zurich Film Festival (28 September
until 8 October, 2017), the ZFF Master Class takes place from 4
until 8 October, 2017. It addresses aspiring directors,
scriptwriters and/or producers which seek for practical improvement.
During the intensive 5-day workshop, the max. 25 participants are
invited to discuss their ideas with experts in intimate sessions,
share experiences with colleagues and network at numerous industry
events at the Zurich Film Festival.
The ZFF Master Class package includes:
• Participation in the ZFF Master Class (from 4 until 8 October 4
until, 2017)
• Free access to the ZFF Masters sessions at Filmpodium
• Industry accreditation for the Zurich Film Festival
• First-class accommodation with breakfast, lunch and selected
dinners

Eligibility requirements:
• You are an aspiring director, scriptwriter and/or producer who is

Each year, ZFF Master Class selects participants carefully to ensure

6. Call for submissions: The 16th Dhaka International Film Festival
2018 |
The 16th Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) will be held in
Dhaka from 12 to 20 January 2018. The general theme of the festival
is:
"Better Film, Better Audience and Better Society‟. The Festival has
been organized on a regular basis by Rainbow Film Society, which has
been dedicated to the promotion of a healthy cine culture in
Bangladesh and in celebrating the global mainstream in film and its
social relevance since 1977.
The festival invites filmmakers to participate in different
sections: Asian cinema Competition, Retrospective, Cinema of the
World, Children's Film, Women Filmmakers, Short and Independent
Films Section and Spiritual Films Section.
DIFF is devoted to feature films only. Documentary and short films
may only be included in Women Filmmaker, Short and Independent,
Spiritual Films and in other special sections where it is deemed
fit.
Rules and regulations:
Apart from the Retrospective films, all the other film entries
should be made in 2017, in special cases the selection committee may
accept films made in 2016.
For preview, the festival needs a DVD or a downloadable link.
The submitted films must be festival maiden (meaning the film should
not have any record of being screened in any other Bangladeshi film
festival before).
No preview DVD will be accepted after 15th October 2017.
The censor board in Bangladesh is intolerant to nudity, obscenity,
sexual scenes, promotion of homosexuality, insulting or belittling
of any religion or any film or any scene that may jeopardize the
country‟s international ties. If you decide to submit your film at
the festival, it means that you have agreed and have given the
festival the permission to edit and delete as per the terms and
conditions of the censorship board.
