1. Oscar’s Awards: Call for Submission.

Submit your feature film for consideration for the Oscar’s Awards


If you are a Jordanian director or producer and have made a film over 40 minutes – narrative, documentary or animation – and have released your film commercially no earlier than December 1st, and no later than October 31st, 2023, for at least seven consecutive days in a commercial theater, you can submit your film for consideration for the 96th Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.


Creative control of the film must have been largely in the hands of citizens or residents of Jordan.


The film must be advertised during its qualifying theatrical release in a manner considered normal and customary to theatrical feature distribution practices.


An independent Selection Committee – established by the RFC – will look into the submitted films that have to fit eligibility criteria set by the Academy for the International Feature Film Award.

To submit your film for consideration by the Selection Committee, please send an email with a private viewing link of the film to: oscars.submissions@film.jo with the subject title: “Submission for consideration to the Academy Awards”.


Please submit the viewing link by email before September 10th, 2023.

2. Jordan Children’s Film Festival - 2nd Edition: Call for submissions

The Royal Film Commission – Jordan calls directors, producers and rights holders to submit their films for the 2nd edition of the Jordan’s Children Film Festival that will take place in Amman-Jordan, October 20th – 25th, 2023.

All those interested in participating and competing for the festival’s prizes are advised to review the below conditions and submit their application no later than Sunday September 10th 2023.

To be eligible for consideration, all films must meet the following requirements:

- The film must not have been released before 2021.
- Long and short, narrative and animation, films are accepted.
- The film must not have been previously broadcast or shown on any TV channel or public online platform available in Jordan.
- The film must be in digital format, MOV or MP4 in high quality.
- The film should not include scenes or content not appropriate for the targeted age groups from 6 to 16 years old.
- A selection committee will choose eligible films to compete.
- Intellectual property rights must be considered when submitting the films.
- The film should be translated into Arabic for non-Arabic language films, or have the required files to provide translation or dubbing into Arabic.

3. Sardiyat Screenwriters Lab” program: Call for submissions
The Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC) is pleased to open the call for applications for the first round of the “Sardiyat Screenwriters Lab” program.

The RFC has launched the first round of the lab in the aim of supporting Jordanian screenwriters and residents who are going through the early stages of developing their feature film, through individual sessions with prominent Arab and Jordanian screenwriters.

This is to enable them to delve deeper into their projects and work on developing their narrative skills. Mentors and participants exchange ideas to reach creative solutions at different stages of script writing, giving participants the opportunity to develop their projects.

Date and time: November 23rd – 27th, 2023

The lab is free of charge and will be administered by a group of experienced Jordanian and Arab filmmakers. The lab will be in Arabic, with the mention of some cinematic terms in English.

The lab targets:

• Jordanian screenwriters residing in Jordan.
• Writers whose feature-length fiction projects are in the early stages of development.

Deadline for receiving applications: August 27th, 2023 - midnight Jordan timing.

4. The Red Sea Souk: Call for Submission

The Red Sea Souk announces the launch of the Call for “PROJECT MARKET” and “WIP SHOWCASE” for its 2023 edition taking place at the Ritz Carlton in Jeddah Dec 2nd - 5th alongside the RSIFF.

The Call is reserved solely for projects and films of Directors from Arab or African nationality/origin. The Project Market will present a selection of ten to twelve projects in development or in production. The WIP Showcase will present a selection of five to six films in post-production.

The Red Sea Souk aims to support the coproduction and distribution of films and to discover new talents.

5. The Montreal International Film Festival Call for Submission

The Montreal International Film Festival is a non-profit organization creating solutions to support young creators within the entertainment industry.

Opening Date: March 6th 2023
Deadline: August 23rd, 2023

Winner Announcements/Notification Date: September 8th, 2023

Join The Event on September 9th - 10th, 2023

The Event: The Montreal International Film Festival's program includes a week long celebration of activities with event panels, screenings, Q&A's and workshops hosted by industry leaders.

Rules & Terms
Official Regulations:
The Montreal International Film Festival accepts projects from anywhere in the world, it is an international competition.

1) Eligibility Requirements:

All entries must at least have subtitled in English or French. Entrant confirms and warrants required legal authority to submit the entry to the Festival and to use all music, images, and content in the entry.

All entries must fit professional standards guideline.

2) Submission Guidelines

∙ Projects must be submitted via an online screener like Vimeo or other secure online platform. (It is recommended that films submitted via online screener be available to download). We recommend including a cover letter for yourself and your project.

∙ Only complete entries (including fee payment ) will be considered.

6. “Another Hole in the Head” Film Festival: Call for Submission
San Francisco’s ‘Another Hole in the Head’ Film Festival is a two-week cinematic excursion into the realms of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, and assorted other genres. Taking its cue from other legendary festivals such as Cannes and Sundance, Another Hole in the Head pulls together a diverse collection of films representing all varieties and budgetary considerations. Another Hole in the Head provides a unique vehicle for independent cinema.

 This year’s festival takes place December 1st - 18th, 2023. It will also take place on demand via Eventive and live on Zoom for those who can't make the live theater screenings.


Only online screeners will be considered for short films and feature. Any questions or other correspondence regarding non-feature film submissions should be addressed to Festival Producer Romany Adams (filmmakers@ahith.com).

Feature film screeners in the form of DVD, Blu-ray, and USB drive may be accepted for consideration with prior permission from Festival Producers George Kaskanlian Jr. (415-793-6868) or Eric Ringer (eric.ringer@gmail.com).

7. Best Indie Film Award: Call for Submission
Best Indie Film Award is one of the online film festivals of the Best Film Awards - IMDb Qualifying Film Festival.


Indie Short Film - budget under 5,000.00 USD
Indie Feature Film - budget under 250,000.00 USD


Rules & Terms:

1. If the film is not in English, it must have English subtitles.
2. All entry fees are non-refundable.
3. Multiple entries from the same submitter are accepted.
4. The decision of the festival selection committee is final.
5. Films that are submitted must be the entrant’s original work and shall not infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third Parties. Contestants agree that they have obtained all required copyright permissions regarding music, sound & images. Etc presented in their film.
6. The organizers reserve the right not to award any or all of the prizes.
7. The organizers have the right to use trailers or still photos on public social networks to promote your project and our festival.

8. Paris Animation Awards: Call for Submission.
PRIX ROYAL's Paris Animation Awards, is a French Awards Showcase for Animators.

PRIX ROYAL's Paris Animation Awards showcases animations of all types and all levels, the Industry-elite judges carefully select your work and write up reviews as well as giving out awards, prizes and distribution deals!

The submission rules and regulations are set forth below:

Submissions:
There will be many submissions, but only those selected will be shown. The submitter accepts that by submitting and paying the submission fee, their submission might not be selected. They accept that in some festivals only award-winning films are shown.
Once submitted the Festival reserves the right to play the Applicant’s work at a live screening and/or screenings with no screening fees or ticket remuneration for the Applicant. This is non-negotiable.


Works submitted that do not meet criteria or fail to adhere to the guidelines, rules and regulations are not the responsibility of the Company or Festival. These submissions may lead to automatic disqualification and loss of submission fee. In order to be considered for the Festival, the Applicant must submit via FilmFreeway located at https://filmfreeway.com or on the Festival’s Home page. The Company reserves the right to disqualify, without refund of any or all submission fees previously collected from the Applicant, any Project that is not submitted through this platform.
