The World Before Your Feet

Jeremy Workman, 95 minutes, Documentary, in English, 2018

For over six years, and for reasons he can't explain, Matt Green, 37, has been walking every block of every street in New York City – a journey of more than 8,000 miles. Matt gave up his former engineering job, his apartment, and most of his possessions, sustaining his endeavor through couch-surfing, cat-sitting and a $15-per-day budget. He is not sure exactly why he is doing it, only knowing that there is no other way he would rather spend his days. “The World Before Your Feet” is a tribute to an endlessly fascinating city and the freedom to be found, wherever you live, in simply taking a walk.

The film has won the Special Jury Prize at The Independent Film Festival of Boston and was nominated for Best Documentary at Denver International Film Festival and Best Documentary at Nashville Film Festival.
